African National Congress (ANC) in the Umjindi Zone, Southern Region, has confirmed that it has received the resignation letter of its Ward 41 Councillor, Ms Constance Sibamba, today, 22 September 2026.
Her resignation comes just weeks before the Local Government Elections (LGE) scheduled for 4th November 2026.
According to party insiders, some ANC social media pages have already started removing her images and references.
Sibamba herself also confirmed her resignation on her social media platforms, however, she has not indicated whether she will be joining a new political party or contesting as an independent.
The ANC in Umjindi is expected to issue a formal statement and announce the process for filling the vacancy in Ward 41.
