Macie raised concern about the rising levels of brutality killings of women and girls in the province, he says such incidents are disturbing and a lot need to be done to protect women and children. He says action needs to be taken and work closely to better protect women and children.
Macie was reacting to the killing of a 7 year-old girl at Delpark near Delmas recently. Macie says the horrible incident comes to light just a few days after a 19 year old Mbombela woman was stabbed to dead while at home in Mattafin on Monday 3 November 2025.
He says there are many such cases which have been reported across the province since the beginning of this year. Government has enacted and revised various pieces of legislation to better protect women and children. however, these cases are on the rise. He further call for calm in the communities while the security cluster is working around the clock to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Macie is appealing to parents and guardians of minors to be vigilant and always know the whereabouts of their children.
