The community members had a meeting last month 18 January 2026 where they agreed on paying R 200.00 each household to fix the road. On 26 February 2026, the work to fix the road began. Members of the community says it is an everyday struggle whenever it rains they remain stranded without transport to work and kids are not going to school because the road becomes muddy, cars and taxis get stuck so that is why they decided to take action. They said it has been a while waiting for authorities to take action but it seems like their grievances fell on deaf ears, they say they understand that they can wait forever if they wait for the authorities to take actions. One of the community members says they are appealing on Government to take action on this because now they feel like they don’t have a road.
According to some leaders of this initiative Pamela Mahlalela and Nonkululeko Nkosi they appreciated the effort and support given by the community members in making this to become a reality, they said government or any help would be welcomed and appreciated.
