Barberton- KaMagaba bus deport is one of the oldest deport which has busses that transport commuters to various destinations around Mbombela. Over night, nine busses were destroyed by fire and the reason behind is unknown yet. According to information one bus caught fire and it quickly moved to other busses. During that time a security guard who was on duty informed his superior and every security cluster and fire extinguishers were informed, they tried to extinguish the fire but it was too late as many busses were destroyed but they managed to save some of the them.
BUSCOR Executive chairperson Dr Norah Fakude says the company is devastated by this incident when they are trying so hard to transport commuters during this time of the year. Fakude says they will continue transporting pasengers as usual, they manage to took some busses from different deports to come and assist in transporting passengers from Barberton to different areas, She also said that they will continue with their December holidays schedule to minimize busses on the road as some passengers are on holidays they are not going to work.
